Elsker Creations was created by Sian. She creates botanical gilded pressed flower artworks and products. ‘Elsker’ means love in Danish and Elsker Creations combines her love of the natural world with traditional crafts. Elsker Creations artworks and products are inspired by the Herefordshire countryside where Sian is based. She picks, presses and gilds flowers that are grown from the garden or from her environment so the works tend to be very seasonal and using wildflowers and cottage garden blooms. Sian is very passionate about traditional crafts such as; bookbinding, gilding, calligraphy and letterpress printing. She has been honing these skills for the past 10 years and applying them to her products. Gold leaf features prominently within all Elsker Creations products using it to highlight and show off the natural beauty of the flowers. Elsker Creations is very aware of the impact of the flower industry on our environment and aim for the grown not flown mentality, pressing and preserving flowers is another way of making these pickings sustainable. The flowers that include the real pressed flowers do change over time but the beauty of that is that represents the natural nature of these pieces.

Flowers & Sustainability

Elsker Creations is very aware of the impact of the flower industry on our environment and aims for the grown not flown mentality. Sian picks, presses and gilds flowers that are grown in her garden in the Herefordshire countryside. This practice applies to all her works. She doesn’t use dyes on the flowers and when creating wedding favours, hanging decorations, table numbers or bespoke orders these are the flowers she uses. They will very gradually fade and evolve over time. There are ways to prevent this but there is also beauty in the changing nature of these pieces. Sian uses gold to highlight the delicate details of the blooms.

When it comes to reducing waste, flower preservation is an amazing option. Sian can preserve anything from bouquets to buttonholes to flower crowns and table flowers. 1 bouquet can often create one large frame and multiple smaller frames which can be used as a perfect ‘thank you’ for bridesmaids, family members and guests. Not only does floral preservation create the most beautiful and thoughtful keepsake, it is also lovely and sustainable way of enjoying blooms for longer.
